The artists known as Daft Punk have split after 28 years of collaboration.
For Variety, their publicist confirmed a "split", but did not provide further details, for example whether or not the duo could collaborate under another name in the future.
Some of the followers think this is not a Daft Punk retreat from music, but maybe the desire to do something 100% different, or just the music industry changed so much in these 28 years that they no longer like it.
The French DJs, whose real names are Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, announced their "split" in an eight-minute video called " Epilog ", which was posted on YouTube.
Daft Punk's latest album was Random Access Memories, a 2013 Grammy Award winner. Since then, they have collaborated a bit with The Weeknd., But since time has passed, fans are still unclear about the split.
People on Twitter have expressed how "this is the end of an era", or "they are going to lock themselves in the room listening to Daft Punk all day".
