The proliferation of Covid-19 vaccines has raised hopes that travel will be possible again. But with the changing situation every day and travel restrictions as well, it is difficult to determine a low risk place to book a trip.
Canadian travel expert Matthew Keezer suggests looking for places that have remained stable throughout the pandemic, rather than choosing destinations that were hit hardest during the pandemic.
What makes a destination safe?
First, nowhere is it immune to Covid-19. But you have a better chance of leaving for the holidays, with relatively low restrictions, looking for places that have experienced fewer cases with Covid. For example, cities and areas where hospitals have avoided overcrowding and are less likely to impose curfews or other restrictions.
Some of the safest places:
Madeira Islands, Portugal
Monte Carlo, Monaco
Martinique, Caribbean
Asos, island of Kefalonia, Greece
Tahiti, French Polynesia
Although these locations are rated as the safest destinations, all travelers should be careful about their health and that of the communities they are visiting.
