Vaccinated people mistakenly believe that they are free to move anywhere and associate with other people despite a constant coronavirus threat.
Prof. David Halpern, head of the UK Behavioral Surveillance Team, said polls show those who have received a first dose of the Covid vaccine are preparing to meet family and friends, which could result in another blow of the virus.
"We are definitely concerned that people feel that, the moment they get the vaccine, they can move and meet anyone," he told lawmakers in the public administration and the constitutional affairs committee.
The vaccine provides better protection 12 to 14 days after the second dose. Experts advise launching a public awareness campaign to highlight the need to follow the restrictions after receiving the vaccine. Some people mistakenly think that the effect of the vaccine is absolutely immediate.
