In television, identity is often built in relation to something else. With a format, with a predecessor, with a personal history. It rarely stands on its own. For a long time, Ledion Liço has also been seen this way - always in relation to something else.

But at a certain point in a career, a public figure no longer needs to be introduced through what he or she was, nor through what he or she has replaced, nor through the people who have surrounded him or her. The name remains complete, without explanatory brackets.

This is exactly the moment Ledion Liço finds himself in today. Not the one from "Top Select", not the one from "The Voice", not Arbana's replacement in "Big Brother VIP", not Sara Hoxha's (ex-)husband. Simply: Ledion Liço.

This edition of "Big Brother VIP" made this more apparent than before. There wasn't a radical change in the way he moderated, but this time he was seen more clearly as a person. That was enough to change the way he was read by the public.

The support he received this season was unusual. Many openly admitted that they were watching the show for him, even when the characters within did not appeal to them. This was not due to either eloquence or humor, qualities that he has had for years and that the audience already knows. What changed was the way he stood with himself on screen.

Ledioni didn't try to control every emotion. On the contrary, he allowed some of them to show. "I'm going through a period of my life where I don't want to listen to sad songs anymore," he told Elvana Gjata, a sentence that hardly belongs in a television format.

This approach was also reflected in the way he communicated with the residents. With Juela, when he spoke about returning to love, he did not say ready-made motivational phrases, but admitted that it is not a linear process. With Stelina, he did not push the story towards excessive curiosity for the sake of the audience. While with Nikoli, he spoke not as a moderator, but as a parent, saying that he does not understand mothers who abandon their children.

For Selin, the reaction to her performance of “Never Enough” was sincere. The song talks about the insufficiency of fame, fortune, and applause without true love, and he didn’t try to explain the emotion that was already evident.

Even in the finale, in a moment usually used for stage effect, Ledioni chose a different tone. Without moralizing as moderators usually do, without exalting phrases that demand applause, he showed during the surprise for him that whatever happens between a couple with children, family remains family.

"This is the only time I allow myself to be so vulnerable as Ledion, not as a moderator. I'm at a point where I find it very difficult to cry, it feels like my tears have dried up. But I'm not really convinced that I deserve any of this. And I'm not really convinced that I and much of this deserve Sara Hoxha."

This way of being on stage is far removed from the Ledion of years past. But this maturity has not come out of nowhere. It is the product of personal experiences as well as a long professional path, which has often been read in a partial way.

In 2003, Ledion Liço won “Pole Position”, a format that required more than just presentation. There he began a path that went from “Top Select” to “Top Albania Radio”, then to “Wake Up” alongside Eno Pop - a daily school of rhythm and communication - and continued with prime-time shows such as “The Voice of Albania”, the finals of “Top Fest” and “E Diell”.

This professional growth occurred before any romantic relationship that was later used to reduce his success, often summed up in the label of "Topi's son-in-law", overshadowing everything he had previously built over the years.

In this sense, today's Ledion is not a new version, but the culmination of a process. A figure who no longer needs to prove himself, because he is no longer trying to convince.

Today, Ledion Liço really seems to be in his prime as a moderator. If he chooses to maintain this relationship with the screen, he has every chance of remaining one of the most stable and respected figures on Albanian television.

E ëma e Pranverës, në një bisedë me Elin, ka pranuar se do t’u kthejë lekët shqiptarëve që kanë dhuruar, për aq kohë sa transplanti nuk u krye.
