It has been a year since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their departure from the royal house.
In a statement on both Instagram and their official website, Harry and Meghan outlined their intentions and reasons for resigning as members of the British royal family, to "work to become financially independent".
On March 31, 2020, their departure became official and they agreed on a 12-month review period ending March 31, 2021.
As we get closer and closer to that date, many are wondering if the Duke and Duchess will return to their former roles.
Pop Sugar says with conviction that "such a thing will not happen".
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, royal life expert Katie Nicholl explained that a return to the palace is unlikely to happen because the general idea is that this "divorce" has worked.
She added:
"Meghan and Harry left the royal family to become independent, financially, but not alone. "They have achieved this independence completely this year."
In fact, they have achieved more than that. Harry and Meghan started their new Foundation, Archewell, but also signed a major multi-year deal with Netflix, where they will produce a variety of projects including documentaries, feature films, scripted series and children's programming.
Moreover, they have partnered with Spotify for a multi-year partnership with Archewell Audio, which is their newly formed audio production company, and Meghan just became a private investor for the women-led Wellness Clevr Blends company.
So Meghan and Harry are doing so well, it looks like their decision was 100% right for them!
