Each season of the year brings something new and special to be appreciated.
Unfortunately, seasonal changes can also irritate the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin or seasonal allergies, which make you even more sensitive to these changes.
These are 3 of the most common seasonal irritants that can affect your skin:
# 1 - Cold air
Winter weather can make the skin very sensitive. Cold air can dry out your skin, making it more easily irritated.
Red spots may appear on certain areas of the skin that are more exposed to the cold.
What to do: Moisturize the skin! Re-hydrate the skin as often as possible, to soothe irritation. Avoid hot showers, though they can be tempting on a cold winter morning.
# 2 - Pollen
Ah, spring. Time starts to warm up, trees and flowers start to bloom and… your nose starts to run as your eyes start to itch.
Many people with seasonal allergies are afraid of the arrival of spring because rising pollen levels irritate people’s skin and eyes.
What to do: Take a shower before going to bed every night. Thus, wash all possible pollen from the hair and skin. Use a laundry detergent, designed specifically for people with sensitive skin, to make sure your clothes do not contain any pollen particles or irritating solutions.
# 3 - Sunlight
Sunlight can irritate the skin in a variety of ways. The skin may become drier than usual, burn and in the long run, age faster.
What to do: Even if you do not have any specific sensitivity to sun exposure, you still need to protect your skin at all times. The use of a sunscreen should not be missing in your routine in any season of the year.
If you are very sensitive to the sun, you should avoid sun exposure as much as possible.
