The CDC * said on Friday, December 4, that the masks are "critical" to controlling the spread of the coronavirus and that means sometimes keeping them at home.

"The consistent and correct use of face masks is a public health strategy critical to reducing Covid-19 transmission."
The CDC has gradually strengthened its recommendations for the use of masks.
"Because the highest risk of transmission has been documented between the home contacts of patients with Covid-19, maintaining a 'safe home' requires physical distancing, using other summarized public health strategies and, in particular, the use of stable and correct face masks to prevent the introduction and transmission of SARS-CoV-2, "they added.
To be more practical, healthcare professionals suggest using masks that can be used more than once.
"Within families, face masks should be used when a family member is infected or has had a possible recent exposure to someone with Covid-19."
Physical distancing is also important and according to the CDC, sustained physical distancing can stop the spread.
Plus, testing is not always infallible because of the possibility of false negatives. So people should do everything: Wear masks, stay away, ventilate indoor spaces as much as possible, and wash your hands often.
"Testing is, however, important. "This is especially true for people who interact a lot with others and are at higher risk," said the CDC team. This includes people working in crowded environments (hospitals, etc.) or students.
