In his memoir, A Promised Land, former President Barack Obama reveals how being in the White House strained his marriage to Michelle Obama.
Meanwhile, recently, in a new interview with People, Barack further discussed the stress Michelle was under and how they adjusted their relationship after leaving the White House.
According to Barack, his marriage problems were "the truth of their time in the White House," adding:
"Michelle believed a lot in the work I did, but she was more skeptical about politics and more careful about sacrificing family."
While the former First Lady is more connected to family and political stresses, Barack said he is the type who says:
"No problem. It will go well ", so I tend to worry less."
However, Obama thinks their relationship managed to survive well for eight years in the White House.
"I think we have come out of that country completely," he said. We had great joys at the White House. There has never been a moment when we did not realize what an extraordinary privilege it was to be there. Most importantly, our kids came out intact and they are wonderful, kind, creative and think of others. So all this is a kind of relief. "
