In early September, Dojna Mema announced her departure from "Pop Culture" in a series of questions and answers on Instagram. To put an end to any rumors of a possible conflict between her and Top Media, in an interview with "Why Not" Dojna spoke about the reasons for leaving.
"For all the people who have followed me step by step know that I started [my career] at Top Albania Radio at the age of 19, which means that I am 28 so it was the only media house I had ever had. So, I did not come from any previous experience, I had not switched to any other radio or television. "
Next, Dojna stressed that it was a difficult decision, but came as a result of her desire to experiment.
"I just did Top Channel and it was a difficult decision of course to break away from the first house. But it was a necessary decision at a time when I was looking to do my own thing. It is a definite moment that a loving couple, after spending beautiful moments together, a moment comes and they break up. It has been a very smooth break and for that I feel very good. It has been a respectful separation from both sides. It was a moment when I really needed to experiment with new things for myself. ”
In addition, the moderator said that the editorial line of Top Channel and Dojna could not adapt at this stage.
"At this stage, Top Channel had an editorial line that did not fit in with the things I specifically wanted to do, so it was better for both parties to take a break from each other."
In the end, she added that she will always be grateful to Top Media.
"However, I am very grateful for one thing, without making these next clichés, when you come out of a house as big as Top Media and [considering] the media experiences I have had, it is very easy for people to believe that they wish. "When I was 19 and had just graduated from Art High School and had no media experience, they were the first to believe in me."
Dojna Mema started her career at Top Albania Radio with a morning show and then was entrusted with the presentation of Top Fest and a music show, The Top List, on My Music. Next, Dojna was the presenter of "Pop Culture" and later became the author of the program. Her other experiences include moderating The Voice, initially in the Voice Room and later as a music show presenter.
