The traditional change of winter time will take place this weekend, Sunday (October 25). At 3 a.m., the scorpions will move 60 minutes later, but this may be the last time this happens.
Since 1981, changing the clock on the last Sunday of October and March has been an annual ritual for Europe. The main purpose is to provide additional hours of light for summer evenings and winter mornings. But critics say the change of time brings an increase in road accidents and sleep problems, which need to be taken seriously.
In March 2019, lawmakers in the European Parliament voted by a majority in favor of removing the clock change starting in 2021. Most countries have said they are in favor of this change.
Due to the pandemic, changing the clock is not one of the priorities of 2021, however it is possible that the clock will not change anymore.
