Courtney, 32, and Jared, 34, tell their story of dating Bustle, which thankfully, ended in the couple’s coronation with marriage.
"Ten years ago, when Instagram was still something new, I found Jared browsing a mutual friend's account and looking at who was following him.
I "followed" him and after he "liked" some of my photos, he also followed me on Instagram.
We exchanged many more likes and I wondered how much more it would take before we really “liked” each other. One night, he commented on my photo that he had an "insta-crush" on me. (Crush * - When "falls on one's head" for someone, he likes)
Later, he told me that you seemed redundant and wanted to delete the comment, but did not know how.
Anyway, it worked! I also returned: "insta-blushing" (I'm blushing).
Since Instagram did not have an "inbox" (Direct Message) then, we had to exchange numbers via Facebook.
He sent me a message where he wrote:
"What would you say if I asked you if you would go out on a date?"
And I answered with:
"I would definitely say yes!"
We talked on the phone before we went out and everything seemed so natural.
On Instagram, you can get a good feel for someone and then try to analyze how much you will go together. Seeing the small or insignificant sequences of their lives makes it somewhat easier for the conversation to flow effortlessly.
You can recognize their interests, what they like or dislike, or even parts of their past. However, the most important impact is the one you get the moment you are really close to each other and your eyes meet.
We have been married for over eight years and have three wonderful children. We feel so lucky to have found each other, just as we found each other.
