The legal dispute between actress Blake Lively and actor and director Justin Baldoni is entering a new phase, despite the fact that only a month ago the parties had reached an out-of-court agreement.
On Monday, both sides appeared in court again in New York, where Lively's legal team sought financial compensation and legal fees. According to the actress's lawyers, the defamation lawsuit filed earlier by Baldoni and his company, Wayfarer Studios , constitutes a form of retaliation.
Baldoni's legal representatives, on the other hand, have denied these claims. According to reports, the amount of damages Lively is seeking has not yet been made public.
The conflict began in late 2024, when Blake Lively filed a lawsuit claiming that Baldoni, who was also the director of the film It Ends With Us , had made inappropriate comments about her personal life and had attempted to change the script by adding intimate scenes that did not exist in the original material.

The actress, known for her role in the series Gossip Girl , also claimed that Baldoni had organized a coordinated campaign in the media and social networks with the aim of damaging her public image.
In response, Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios filed a lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of defamation. However, the court decided to dismiss some of these claims.
Federal Judge Lewis Liman dismissed some of the charges from both camps, but allowed Lively's claims of retaliation to continue in court.
Meanwhile, the film It Ends With Us , based on Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, was a huge success at the box office, generating more than $350 million in revenue worldwide.
