The pandemic changed our lives in many ways, changes which were reflected in the markets. The demand for disinfectant products has increased significantly worldwide, but with the need also the abuses made with such products.
Before making your next purchase, safety is the first thing you need to keep in mind. It has often happened to you that the smell of one disinfectant is unacceptable or one alcohol does not resemble the other, so special care is needed.
Disinfectant products that are out of standard and do not meet the criteria from the Institute of Public Health (IPH), not only do not have the effect of killing the virus, but can further endanger your skin and health.
There are several ways to avoid being scammed in the market, so to make sure the product you are buying is genuine and safe follow the steps below:
1. Read the label carefully.
Read the name and address of the manufacturer on the label. Many counterfeit products on the market do not state where they are produced as they are produced in unacceptable hygienic conditions.
2. Note the percentage of alcohol in the product.
The Institute of Public Health suggests products with over 60% alcohol. There are products that do not write down the percentage of alcohol. Do not buy it!
3. Look for products certified by the Institute of Public Health (IPH)
Not every product passes the test for quality and effectiveness on bactericides, fungicides and virusocides.
4. Testing is important
Smell test: trust your senses by smelling the disinfectant product before putting it on the skin. Pure alcohol of a pharmaceutical quality has no bad odor or added odors. Heavy-smelling alcohols can be very dangerous and even deadly as they contain methyl alcohols which are strong poisons.
