The term "Blue Moon" is used to describe two different types of moons.
- First definition: Refers to the second full moon, within a calendar month, which last appeared on March 31, 2018.
- Second Definition: Used to describe the third full moon of the four full moons, within the space of a single season, which is expected to occur on August 22, 2021.
Very soon, we will be able to see the Blue Moon, which coincides with the first definition.
When? On Halloween , October 31st! Save the date!
Unfortunately, the Blue Moon does not mean that it is literally in blue.
"The possibility of the moon looking exactly blue is not impossible, but it would take unusual sky conditions, such as certain particles of smoke or dust of different sizes," reports EarthSky.
The site also suggests not taking into account the pictures that show the moon totally blue, because although they attract attention and look magical, they are not completely accurate.

However, it is not in vain that it is called the "Blue Moon", as it is not like the moon of every evening and has a different lighting and shade.
On Halloween night a rare Blue Moon will be visible across all times zones. It will not shine blue, but the name is given because it is the second full moon to appear in the same month - the first occurs October 1

Its appearance occurs seven times, every 19 years and the next Blue Moon will not appear until Halloween 2039.

The last time the Blue Moon appeared was in 1944, during the years of World War II.
Undoubtedly this rare moon will help to create an even more thrilling atmosphere this coming Halloween!
