Beauty trends are debatable. One trend replaces another within a short period of time. However, Korean trends - the land of people with perfect skin - deserve attention, always.
"Jamsu" was massively rumored in 2016 as the Korean secret in order for makeup to last all day, however it has recently returned to the spotlight again. Jamsu means "to dive" and the technique has a connection to the name.
Jamsu step by step works like this:
The first phase:
1 - Apply foundation
2 - Spread on skin
3 - Apply concealer
4 - Then apply makeup fixative powder or baby powder.
Once you are done with the makeup, proceed to the next stage.
Second phase:
1 - Fill a container with cold water
2 - Dip your face for 30 seconds
3 - Then, wipe your face very lightly with a towel or napkin
4 - Continue with the rest of the makeup
Why is it said to work? Because cold water shrinks the pores and creates a matte effect on the skin, which is emphasized more by the placement of the powder, which due to the water is fixed on the skin. Thus, makeup stays on perfectly throughout the day.
Does it really work? Yes, some.
Should it be tried? If you have very oily skin, why not. If you do not like the matte effect on the skin (without gloss), we do not believe that jamsu is for you.
