At this point in the pandemic, one of the most contentious issues relates to the use of the mask, as long as the latter is of great importance in reducing cases of infection and ending the pandemic.
Experts say that a simple action we can take while wearing the mask can help reduce infections. Jose Jimenez, a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder who studies disease transmission, told The Atlantic (via BGR) that we should all stop talking out loud.
Sounds like something silly, right? It does make sense though.
"Any route of viral transmission would be reduced if we spoke less, or spoke less loudly, in public spaces. This is just a very clear fact. It is not debatable," Jimenez said.
Speaking out loud, has more potential to spread splashes.
