As promised, yesterday (August 14) Dua Lipa brought the dream come true; first collaboration with Madonna, the queen of pop, and Missy Elliott, one of the most successful rap singers.
The project, published a few hours ago, is a remix of Duas' song "Levitating", first released in April 2020. The remix was created by The Blessed Madonna, the American DJ formerly known as The Black Madonna.
Although Madonna does not appear in the clip, her voice intertwined with that of Dua can not be indistinguishable. The song takes on another dimension when Missy Elliott starts rap as only she can do. Dua's boyfriend, Anwar Hadid, could not miss the new project.
For the first time, the singer of Albanian origin announced the important collaboration on July 27, when she said she would work with "her idols" for the new remix.
The project, not in vain is considered a "dream come true" as Dua has often said that if there is one singer she would like to be like, it is Madonna. Some time ago, her manager Ben Maason, stated for Music Week:
"The album Future Nostalgia has been greatly influenced by the energy and feeling that Madonna's songs convey. We are even trying to convince Madonna to collaborate with Dua. When I first met Dua she was only 17 years old and told me she wanted to become like Madonna. There was something in the way she told me that made me believe in Dua. It has it all, so it has unlimited potential. ”
