A huge explosion has hit the Lebanese capital, Beirut, causing extensive property damage and unfortunately severely injuring people, according to local media (via BBC).
According to reports, the blasts occurred in the port area of ??the city and it is not known if there will be a second explosion. At the moment, it is clear what caused the explosion.

This event comes after a political tension in Lebanon, with street protests against the government, which is facing the worst economic crisis since the Civil War in 1975-1990. There have also been tensions on the border with Israel.
