Doris Crippen, 73, was diagnosed with coronavirus in May and due to her poor health condition, fell and broke her arm ending up in the emergency room. After leaving the hospital where he stayed for 30 days, Doris headed to a medical center to rehabilitate his arm.
It was at this center that he received a surprise that he did not expect at all. Bev Boro, 53, is one of the employees who has been working there for 22 years. She came across the name in the patients' letters and immediately realized that it was about her sister.
"I could not believe it. "I just said, 'Oh God, this is my sister,'" she told the media.
Both women have the same father but different mothers and have not met for 53 years, since the time they separated when Bev was little. Doris was living with her mother at the time, but Bev and four of their 14 sisters were taken from the state and placed in orphanages for adoption.
Doris has tried in the past to find sisters, but has failed. "It's wonderful," she said. "I never thought I would find him again." Bev, on the other hand, had tried to reunite with other sisters and brothers.
"It was a blessing from God that I was sent here, to the rehab center, because if I had not come here, I would not have found it," said Doris.
