Michelle launched her podcast this week and the first guest could be none other than former President Barack Obama.
They have talked before about the beginning of their relationship, which inspired the movie "Southside with you", but about the inauguration of the "Michelle Obama Podcast", they discussed what made them fall in love with each other.
As Michelle explains, it was the sense of empathy for the community that made the young lawyer go after him:
"One of the reasons I fell in love with you is because you are guided by the principle that we are responsible for our brothers and sisters. And so I grew up. I can say that my family, my neighborhood, the notions of the community where I grew up, formed the views and choices I made in life and I felt that the same thing had happened to you. ”
Barack, who is known for his jokes, continues: "It's not just my appearance. "Okay, no problem."
These "harassments" have been countless in the 49-minute video. When the former First Lady says that they have been "spending a lot of time together in quarantine", her husband responds: "You do not look very happy about this fact."
The author of "Becoming", adds that it was the time they spent together, that gave them the opportunity to talk about their common vision about the future.
"We have had a great time. We had some interesting conversations because these are crazy times ... We spent hours talking about how our views on the community shape what we are, influence the choices we make and the reactions we have. ”
Barack says:
When you and I think about what legacy we would like to leave to Malia and Sasha (girls), more than anything else we would like them to be in a place that respects everyone and cares for everyone. A society that celebrates and sees everyone, because we know that even when we are not near them, in a society like the one I mentioned, they will be fine. ”
