"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" has become the subject of an internal WarnerMedia investigation following numerous reports of employee mistreatment, Variety reports. The show is produced by the American company Telepictures, which acts as a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Television.
Warner Bros. executives Television and Telepictures have sent a memorandum to employees describing the work environment.
This investigation follows recent BuzzFeed News reports where former Ellen DeGeneres employees testify about the texic work environment. Employees told Buzzfeed News in an article published July 16 that Ellen DeGeneres is not the cheerful and kind man that people see at home.
They said they were fired after taking a few days off for medical matters, or to bury a relative. Another former employee said that after receiving a medical leave a month after a suicide attempt, he returned to work and was told that his position was being vacated.
