The European Union, which previously announced that it would open its borders to the countries of the Western Balkans, has doubts about Albania! There is a possibility that the borders will not be opened for our country, due to the high number of positive cases registered in recent weeks.
For the EU, the main criterion for removing restrictions on entry into the European Union's external border is the number of cases of COVID-19 infection.
According to their criteria, countries that will be allowed to be free to travel must have 16 or less positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants for the last two weeks.
However, no official decision has yet been made on Albania and other countries where the Covid-19 situation has worsened. This decision is expected to be made on Monday or Tuesday.
If this criterion came into force today, Albania, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina would be penalized.
