The shocking story of Adriana that received media attention, after being first raped by the orphanage guard in Shkodra and then sexually harassed by the police where she asked for help, was publicly broadcast on "I want to make you happy". Adriana narrated in voice and image the whole ordeal of sexual pain and abuse, which began at the age of 12.
"I was coming back from school and the guard didn't tell me anything. He grabbed me by the hair and put me in a house and sexually abused me. I was 12 years old. I shouted, but I couldn't stop him. I was powerless. Nobody took action, they just fired him. "
During her confession, Adriana said the abuse continued.
"Violence continued and abuse continued by adult children. The tutors taught him that if Adriana did not behave well, you would do the same to her. An Islamic teacher abused us. He told us that what he would do to the first child, he would do to all of us. And he abused us. He put us in the basement and there were mice there. We were kids, we were scared. They beat us when we disobeyed, we couldn't ask for help. They have taken revenge on me. They have done me a lot of harm. Even today I see them in dreams. I don't know how to express it. "
Adriana asked for help from the police years ago, but the police officer also sexually abused her.
"We were all abused. In 2016 I got the guts. This phenomenon still exists in orphanages. I have evidence and I told the police, but they asked me where I grew up and they told me to leave. "
Adriana showed that although she is afraid, she decided to speak publicly about this phenomenon:
"I don't even know how I'm going to say it. I said I would take it with me to the grave. The time has come for those who have grown up like me to seek help. To the state. In the media. Not to be silent anymore. It is not the time to be silent anymore. I talked to other children, but they are afraid of threats. "
During the confession, Adriana added that after her mother, whom she met after so many years, denied her as her child, she was forced to return to Shkodra and live in the dormitory for the orphanage girls. That's where the story of the abuse began again.
"Many bad things have happened to me from the girls who grew up with me in the orphanage. They were bigger than me. They turned into tutors. They were introducing people to abuse me. If I did not pay the required amount of money, I would be beaten and bleed to death. No one cared about us because we were adults and we were told to take care of ourselves. I stayed there until 2013. The girl I lived in the room died in the accident. I think they killed him and I was scared and ran away. "
As if these were not enough in Adriana's life, she was also trafficked to Kosovo and then rehabilitated in a center for victims of trafficking. After the rehabilitation center communicated with a center in Albania, Adriana met Alida, a psychologist who helped her recover from her trauma.
"I have often tried to kill myself, but thanks to her I am here. I have no emotions, I'm a little scared, but not emotions. "
Adriana showed between tears that she finds it difficult to find a job because they prejudice her style of dress.
"I dont do anything. I am unemployed because people are prejudiced, by my masculine dress and style. I asked for a waitress and they didn't accept me. I live in a rented house with a girl who helps me rent because I don't have one. ?
Throughout the story, Adriana constantly stressed that such phenomena should be denounced and encouraged all people who have experienced the same traumas as her not to be silent anymore.
"I want to make it possible for you", through sponsors, managed to provide Adriana with a monthly pension for a long time.
