Urban transport has become for weeks the main problem of citizens, who are facing daily difficulties in movement. Although other categories of businesses have returned to work, urban transport has not yet.
Invited to the program "Ditë e Re" on RTV Ora, was the head of the urban transport association, Rixhin Qosja, who revealed some details related to the opening of this service sector.
He said that there is still no concrete plan regarding the date of opening the transport, but work is being done on a more efficient way of operation.
"The Municipality of Tirana in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure are in contact to find these latest modalities, for the security protocol, for the mode of operation, the financial scheme that this service will operate because it is very important and I hope to complete as much as possible. as soon as possible. A fixed date I can't say at the moment, but it has been discussed for the last few days. "
Asked about some of the security measures expected to be implemented by both citizens and the other side, he said that security protocols for urbanites will be adapted to those in Europe and Kosovo.
"In a public transport vehicle, no more than 25 or 30 people will be able to circulate at the same time. In an urban vehicle that is 12 meters long, 100 passengers are sitting and standing, while now it is thought to be reduced to 25-30." "
Will there be a price increase on tickets ?!
"The only thing we haven't asked for is a price increase. Because even if the price goes up, it won't be able to compensate for the loss we will generate if we go to work as normal. Because transporting 30% of the capacity means it's losses every day. So we have sought some other ways to make this service survive. "
