The brother of the pilot who piloted the helicopter that crashed 9 people, including NBA legend Kobe Bryant, recently made a statement saying it was also the fault of the passengers.
Based on investigations and official documents, he says passengers were shown to be negligent during their trip.
The document, also signed by Vanessa Bryant, states that passengers knew the danger in which they were involved.
"This negligence was the main factor that led to such great damage, for which this defendant (pilot) is not responsible."
Everyone, including Kobe, knew full well that the conditions of that day were not conducive to travel, but nevertheless they agreed to fly.
The helicopter's representative company also responded in court on Monday, saying that Bryant was aware of the conditions and potential dangers, but that no one was to blame for the accident. They called the event "God's will."
The helicopter was involved in a fatal accident on January 26 due to bad weather conditions. Among the 9 victims, Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gigi, died while traveling to watch a youth basketball game.
