These last two days, due to the lack of verification of the case up to the genesis, portals, anonymous pages and ordinary people address the issue of employment of journalists Mira Kazhani and Bieta Sulo at UKT (Tirana Water Supply and Sewerage). As you can see below, in an Excel document it appears that Bieta was paid 55,000 lek as a specialist and Mira Kazhani 83,000 as an economic advisor.
In an interview for Real Story, the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was asked, among other things, about this issue.
?[...] As for a company like UKT which is one of the largest companies in the capital today, perhaps after OSSHE, it always needs to get consultants, media specialists, consultants, credit experts, accounting experts, ie the best on the market. That's the decent thing to do, and it should end there. "
The mayor went on to say that journalists around the world "regularly work for mayors or city companies to [help] communicate with the public regarding decisions and reforms."
Bieta Sulo and Mira Kazhani have so far preferred not to comment.
