André Leon Talley, one of Anna Wintour's best friends and collaborators in Vogue, will recently publish a memoir, where it appears that a significant portion will be devoted to her relationship with Wintour, who has taken the downhill from long.
The Daily Mail provided a copy of the upcoming book, The Chiffon Trenches, which will be published in September. The 70-year-old reveals details of his friendship with the editor-in-chief of Vogue.
In the book, André says there are "serious emotional and psychological wounds" after working with Wintour for decades. He writes that Anna has nothing to do with kindness and "is immune to anyone but powerful and famous people who are published on Vogue sites."
André, a journalist by profession, also known in the fashion field, who has often taken care of Wintour's public appearances, began working for Vogue in 1983.
André explains about the time when their relationship started to crumble. In 2016, he launched a series of podcasts for Vogue where he chatted with celebrities. His work proved successful, but he was still paid only $ 500 per episode. The podcast suddenly closed without explanation.
In early 2018, André was preparing for the usual interviews on the red carpet at the Met Gala, but no one announced it.
"After decades of loyalty and friendship, Anna must have had the courage and kindness to call me or send me an email saying, 'André, I think we've had a great journey, but we're going to try something new.' I would have accepted that. Understand; none lasts forever. A gesture of kindness. No, she finds it impossible. I wonder, when you go home in the evening, do you feel miserable? Does she feel lonely? ?
He called her action a "cold business decision." "Suddenly I was very old, I was overweight and not at all cool."
In another part of the book, André says that "Anna chooses to associate only with the upper classes, such as Serena Williams, George and Amal Clooney or Roger Federer."
