After the end of the pandemic, the weekend without cars will be sanctioned, at least for the capital. Such a decision was announced by the Mayor, Erion Veliaj, in a communication with the show "Repolitix" on Report Tv.
"The city has been cleaner, clearer and we have realized that the biggest polluters in the city are cars. As we have calculated before the pandemic, in Tirana 800,000 segments of cars are made per day, of which 400,000 are at distances less than 1 kilometer. What we understood from the pandemic is that going to the bakery, pharmacy, hairdresser, supermarket or health center can be done very well on foot or by bicycle.

The moment we release all activities and return to normal life, we will sanction the weekend without cars, not out of sorrow, but out of a passion to give better air to our children. ?
