In a Facebook communication , the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth said that "the decision on the modalities of the end of the school year, as well as other important information for pupils and students, will be published before the end of the month." During the statement, the Minister focused on four important issues:
To the final decision for the end of the school year:
"We still do not have a final decision on the end of the school year. [This decision] we will have at the end of April, so it is a matter of days. We are just looking at the situation with the coronavirus and waiting for a Task Force decision on whether we can go back to school or not. However, we have all the scenarios ready for both cases. "
Graduates and new exam orientation programs:
"Also, at the end of April, when the decision for the school year is made, new orientation plans for the Matura will be published, which do not contain topics that have not been developed in [normal] school conditions."
To graduates who want to apply for studies abroad:
"Our plan is to close the school year in June, as was normally planned, and not to have obstacles for students who want to apply abroad."
To students and the academic year:
"Students have an increased flexibility, because exams are usually held in July. However, we are working closely with deans, rectors and heads of departments to see how different universities have acted to close the academic year. We are coordinating the work with them, we are orienting them, but at the end of the day the decision belongs to the university. ?
Following the communication, the Minister added:
"Within a few days, we will make the final decision to close the school year. We have ready the scenarios and guidelines for assessing students both at home and if we go back to school. ?
