Entrepreneur Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, has increased his fortune by $ 24 billion during the warranty period, an increase of approximately 20% over the past four months. Bezos owns 11% of the company and is the richest man in the world since 2017.
This increase in wealth came amid growing controversy over the treatment of retailers after the coronavirus outbreak. Workers have reported major tensions, especially the depot team. Many of them work in places where Covid-19 can spread easily. In some cases, positive virus workers have been confirmed.
Some Amazon workers have staged strikes and protests and others claim they will retaliate because their rights are not respected. "If we don't work, what will you do?" said an employee for The Guardian.
Meanwhile, the company has employed 100,000 American workers and will employ another 75,000 to meet the demand. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bezos is one of the few billionaires to have had a net asset growth since the beginning of 2020.
In January, Jeff Bezos became quite wealthy within minutes. The company reported quarterly earnings and revenue rose two digits and exceeded analysts ?expectations. This report increased the value of the shares by 12% and added $ 15.8 billion to Jeff Bezos' fortune for 15 minutes of work.
In late February, the CEO of Amazon said he would donate $ 10 billion to save the environment due to the climate crisis. In early April, he said he would donate $ 100 million to Feeding America, which feeds people in need.
At the moment, his fortune is worth $ 138 billion.
