The Technical Committee of Experts clarified in a statement to the media the testing procedures. The committee was prompted by numerous allegations that Albania was conducting a few tests for Covid-19, set up by the opposition.
According to the Committee, the tests for Covid-19 are based "on expertise, on the characteristics of the model selected according to WHO recommendations for the purpose, detection of cases, tracking and termination of the chain of infection."
According to them, the strategy pursued so far has yielded the desired results and there is no reason to reconsider it.
"The Technical Committee of Experts estimates that the measures taken by the Albanian authorities have been extremely useful and have had positive effects, which must be taken maximum care not to be distracted by facilitations that may result prematurely," the statement continued.
Testing of suspected or not cases is also a debate in the United States and beyond. But, given the lack of flooding of the health system and the relatively low number of those affected, the strategy chosen by experts on testing works.
