As isolation continues and the state of the economy is in decline, a good deal of people are starting to fear losing their jobs. The pandemic and quarantine to stop its spread has made many people unaware of what lies ahead.
Will they have a job anymore? How many chances are there to find another job at worst? We face many dilemmas like these, so it is good to take action. How should you prepare yourself today if you lose your job?
1. Limit the budget.
This is the first and most important step. Day by day you realize that you need to make your money accounts more carefully, and you should give up unnecessary expenses immediately.
Spend only on the essentials you and your home need. Leave the secondary or luxury things for another moment.
2. Priorities are due and invoices
Monthly dues have to be paid, whether or not you have a job. The main problem for Albanians is how will their pay continue if you are no longer employed? Alongside food, consider having a good portion of your income left to pay your bills.
3. Turn your eyes to savings
If your salary is currently halved, we know that the last thing you are thinking about is saving money. If you did this until yesterday, it's time to take advantage of the savings. Emergency money is a rescue in cases like these and you can use it for monthly obligations or to survive until you return to work / find a new job.
4. Frantically start looking for a new job.
Coronavirus is rapidly changing the business environment or recruiting employees. Therefore, you can spend this time on starting your search for a new job. Your career may change when you get out of solitary confinement so start with the references now. If you are among the first applicants, you are more likely to call when the situation is back to normal.
5. Get your unemployment application ready.
If you are sure you lose your job, at least try to take advantage of the government assistance. Prepare an online document certifying that you are out of work, should this happen and be interested in what rights arise with the new status.
