Chelsey Earnest, a nurse working at the Kirkland Life Care Center in Washington, DC, told CNN that all patients affected by coronavirus had a common symptom - they had a rash on the area around their eyes.
In addition to symptoms such as cough, difficulty breathing, Chelsey said "patients had red eyes." "The white part of the eye is not red, but they have a shade on the outside of the eye," she explained.
The American Academy of Ophthalmology has suggested that there are some reports that Covid-19 can lead to conjunctivitis - which causes redness in and around the eye area.
Eye problems are not on the list of symptoms circulating by the World Health Organization and the American Center for Disease Control and Prevention, though the list is not comprehensive.
"We have had patients who had only red eyes and no other symptoms," Earnest added. "After we went to the hospital, some passed away."
In recent days, other symptoms are being considered, including the problem with the smell or loss of ability to enjoy food. For more, refer to the link below.
