Morning coffee may increase your ability to concentrate, but it has no effect on creativity. This is a conclusion of recent days, according to the study published in Science Direct (via Healthline).
The study involved 80 people who were given a 200 mg caffeine pill, which is equivalent to a cup of strong coffee.
Convergent thinking (problem solving) and divergent thinking (creativity and ideas), memory, and mood were then tested.
Caffeine affected divergent thinking, but not creative abilities, the researchers reported.
It also had no significant effect on memory growth, but researchers said people felt less sad after coffee.
