Vittorio Gregotti has passed away. Born in Novara, Italy, on August 10, 1927, the great architect, urban planner and theorist of architecture was hospitalized at the San Giuseppe Hospital in Milan after coronavirus-induced pneumonia. His wife, Marina Mazza, also remains hospitalized in the same hospital.
One of Gregotti Associati International's most important projects (study he founded in 1974) includes the development plan of the Biccocca district in Milan (1985-2005),
Centro Cultural de Belem in Lisbon (1988-1993)
and Aix-en-Provence in France (2003-2007), perhaps one of the most beloved creations.
In 1975, he curated the Venice Biennale and is known for his work designing the Barcelona Olympic Stadium, the Arcimboldi Opera House in Milan as well as many universities, such as the Calabria.
Italian authorities have regarded Vittorio Gregotti as the master of architecture that changed the face of Milan and Italy.
