Europe is already the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic. As the spread of coronavirus slows in China, more cases are reported in Europe, with Italy centered, according to data published by the World Health Organization.
"Now more cases are reported in Europe, more than in China at the height of the epidemic," said WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at a press conference in Switzerland, where the WHO has its headquarters (Geneva).
"Europe has become the epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic, with many cases reported and many deaths."
Tedros said numerous measures would be taken to combat the pandemic.
Italy remains the country with the highest number of people affected in Europe (and second in the world, behind China), with 15,113 infected. Then come Spain, France and Germany.
