Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, have been tested and diagnosed with Covid-19.

The two actors are in Australia for the first stages of producing a Warner Bros. film. on Elvis Presley's life. Hanks will play the arithmetic manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

Tom and Rita got the virus from a "staff member who was diagnosed as a coronavirus carrier." In a statement, Hanks writes:

"Hello people. Rita and I are in Australia. We felt a little tired, as if we were cold and our body ached. Rita had a fever that passed and they returned. Even temperature. To do the right thing, we tested for coronavirus and the results were positive.

Is good. What to do now? Doctors have protocols to follow. We will be tested, monitored and isolated for as long as needed.

We'll keep you updated. Take care of yourself. ?

Warner Bros. is working with Australian health agencies "to identify and contact anyone who may have had contact" with those carrying the virus.

The studio added: ?The health and safety of our staff is paramount. We are taking steps to protect all those who work for us all over the world. ?
