At midnight, the Ministry of Health has officially confirmed the first two cases of coronavirus affected in our country. Father and son, 54 and 28 years of age, tested positive for COVID-19 after analysis.
According to preliminary data, they stayed for a day in Florence and then traveled by land, from Florence to Tirana via Hani Hoti point, in their own car.
The Ministry of Health also announced that at present the health status of both is stabilized and neither of them presents any complications. While the first affected people in our country are being treated at the infectious hospital, public health structures are dealing with epidemiological investigation and sampling for all the people they have had contact with.
On the other hand, today the first meeting of the Albanian government is expected to be held to discuss coronaviruses, now that our country has been added to the list of affected countries. Today's meeting is expected to take new measures according to WHO recommendations, but in advance the ministry recommends that all persons coming from countries affected by coronavirus be self-isolating.
Also, citizens who have traveled from affected countries, or have had contact with other people from these countries and exhibit flu-like symptoms, should call 127.
