How do vaccines work?
Vaccines fight off viruses and immune system bacteria. They protect the body from those known as "invaders", fight these bodies and then teach the body how to fight them. When the body is exposed again to viruses or bacteria, it has all the right mechanism to fight it.
How far has the work on the invention of a coronavirus vaccine gone?
Researchers have developed several types of vaccines that are being tested in animals.
If the right vaccine is created, how long does it take to produce mass?
If vaccines tested on animals work, they can be tested on humans at the end of the year. Even if the work of scientists progresses in finding the vaccine, it will take massive work to produce it.
Will they work the same for all people?
It is almost inevitable that the vaccine will be less successful in older people. This is not related to the vaccine itself, but to the immune system, which in this case does not respond well.
Will there be side effects?
All medications, even paracetamol, have side effects. But without clinical trials it is impossible to know what the side effects of an experimental vaccine might be.
