After Italy, the first case of coronavirus in Greece is confirmed. It is about a 38-year-old who had recently been in northern Italy, the most affected area.
The 38-year-old from Thessaloniki has proved to be the first confirmed case of coronavirus in Greece. According to a statement given during a press conference by infectious diseases professor Sotiris Tsiodhras, the woman is in good health and is being treated at one of Thessaloniki's hospitals.
According to preliminary data, the woman had just returned to an area of Northern Italy and now Greek health authorities are conducting tests of all her relatives, with whom she has had contacts since returning from Italy.
On the other hand, the Greek government has stepped up measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The latest plan, in the event of a proliferation, is to close schools, restrict public transport, public institutions, and order temporary accommodation at home.
Meanwhile in our country so far there is no one affected by coronavirus, but in case of scenario similar to neighboring countries, infectious hospital in TUHC will be made available to all patients.
