Petrit Lekaj, the father who killed his 18-year-old daughter after going out with friends, confessed to macabre to police. The interview was made public by court order. Lekaj describes how he stabbed Sabrina and tried to strangle her.
The video was recorded at a mental health institute, where Lekaj was held after being arrested. Detectives went to him to inquire about the crime that destroyed the family and shocked thousands.
After reading their rights, Lekaj admitted that he stabbed his daughter eight times.
"I shot him once, I was sitting in the driver's seat," he said. "Then I sat back and ... I went on. I just stabbed him. She struggled, trying to open the door and the window. When it was no longer moving, I shot myself. How could I kill my daughter, how did I do that? ?
The incident happened last July in Sabrina's car, near the family's home in Adelaide, Australia.
Lekaj said she took a knife with her and brought her daughter for a lap to discuss her lifestyle, frequent exits and drug use.
"I told him I had done everything for him, how he could get it back to me ... How he could behave this way, how he could put it all down," Lekaj told police.
?I wanted to scare him. Something overwhelmed me, I don't know how to explain something so terrible. I just wanted to scare him, ?he says. "It doesn't say what I did ... I wish I wasn't here."
The 49-year-old is still under arrest and will be sentenced to life in prison. Next Tuesday will be decided on may apply for parole.
