Yesterday, the Daily Mail reported that Meghan Markle's close friend Jessica Mulroney had registered a new domain for Meghan and Prince Harry. According to the report, Jessica "registered sussexglobalcharities.com last Wednesday through her charity The Shoebox Project Foundation, which helps women in need." Naturally, people thought that Sussex Global Charities would be the new title of Harry and Meghan's non-profit.
But, apparently, The Shoebox Project Foundation has nothing to do with Jessica - and she made sure to make it clear on Twitter:
"If some investigative journalists were to do their job properly, they would probably find out that The Shoebox Project Foundation is owned by Mr. Roy in North Carolina and has nothing to do with my charity, The Shoebox Project. Good Sunday. "
Why do they need a new Harry and Meghan title hacking? The couple said they would no longer use the term "royal" once they had completely relinquished their royal duties. The move is a bit problematic as Instagram and their official website is called "Sussex Royal."
In a statement, they write, "The Duke and Duchess plan to set up a not-for-profit organization, but given the British government's rules on the use of the word 'royal,' they agreed not to use the word 'Sussex Royal' or any variation similar.
For the aforementioned reason, applications for the protection of copyright that were submitted as a safeguard as occurred in the case of the Royal Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Foundation have been withdrawn. ?
They also added, ?Although the Monarchy or the Cabinet Office has no jurisdiction over the use of the term 'royal' outside the borders, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use 'Sussex Royal' or any variation of the word 'royal' in no territory (inside or outside the UK). ?
