One man has traveled to more than 50 countries for three years and has never bought a single plane ticket. He tells and mentors others who want to do the same, in the hope that they will follow his example of impressive experiences.
Inspired by a traveling show that aired on Australian television, Ty Dalitz launched his odyssey in 2009 after finishing university. ?I bought a roller coaster and traveled all over Australia. It was supposed to last six months and ended up lasting 3 years. When it was over, I was obsessed with my lifestyle and couldn't afford it. Not sure what moment I decided not to fly anywhere, it just happened. I know I wanted something challenging and adventurous, not a vacation, ?Ty said.
The ambitious challenge brought You to 47 different countries. He has traveled from Australia through Southeast Asia to China, Mongolia, Russia and Europe. ?I spent some time in Eastern Europe, traveled by occasional car over the Arctic to arrive in Finland and visited every place from there to Turkey. Afterwards, I spent a few days in Italy, France and Spain, before arriving in London. " From there, Ty found a ship heading to the United States of America and joined the crew.
Sailing through the Panama Canal, Ty reached the west coast of the Pacific, visited Mexico and landed in San Diego. You spent six and a half months on that ship and traveled for almost 15,000 miles.
By not flying around, the unique way of traveling made You gather unforgettable experiences. "I learned that the world is full of opportunities for all who have the courage to explore it."
