Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue distancing themselves from royal life. The couple fired 15 people serving in their office at Buckingham Palace.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the staff last month when they made the decision to step down from their roles as members of the royal family. One or two employees may find other positions within the building, but most are negotiating dismissal bonuses.
Buckingham Palace does not comment on such issues, but it has been hinted that the Breakers, Prince Charles and Prince William are aware of the holidays.
"Given that they are leaving their roles, they do not need an office at Buckingham Palace," a source told The Daily Mail. "The process is about to be finalized and they are trying to find other positions for the employees they no longer need, but unfortunately there will also be layoffs."
Dismissed include communications director Sara Latham, secretary Fiona McIlham and clara Loughran, Harry's coordinator who gave Meghan the bouquet of flowers on her wedding day.
?The Duke and Duchess had a small staff of less than 15 people. The staff were very understanding and respected the decision, ?the source added.
