On the eve of the end of the fifth night of Sanremo 2020, but also after its completion, as the network was booming over a number of issues - such as Amadeus stepping on stage imitating Maria De Filippi, kissing Tiziano Ferro - s and Fiorello's Piero Pelù who took the bag of a lady in the hall, the on-stage scandal of Bugo and Morgan, who were subsequently disqualified or predictions of who would win this year's edition - on Twitter, but also on Twitter other social networks, Alketa Vejsiu, present on stage on the third night of the festival, continued and continues to be commented on by the Italians.
While in Albania part of the people and media dealt with Alketa's "not at all current" monologue, the fact that she was mistaken in saying that she was the only woman presenter of the Song Festival or the backstage debate for four minutes when she seemed (always alluding), Alceta spoke more than anticipated, the Italians, and here we are talking about the media, celebrities (like Ambra Angiolin) or the common people, they liked it very much.
There were humorous comments, fueled by the fact that Alketa spoke too, too fast, as far as they were compared to Bonolis, there were people who liked her freedom on stage, and most of all, there were people who not only liked her but saw her as part theirs and as you can read in the post at the end of the article, some demand that "Alketa be back to do Italian shows".
"Enthusiastic and too quick to speak, Albanian presenter Alketa Vejsiu was one of the surprises of Sanremo 2020, and on Thursday night, as she descended the Ariston stairs, occupied the scene dominated by Amadeus," Il Corriere wrote in an article. Some other portals called it a "hurricane", while for ordinary Italians it was one of the favorites, referring to street interviews by Vanity Fair Italy.
"Alketa Weysiu is a surprise," she writes on Twitter. "Where can I apply to give an Italian program to Alceta," reads elsewhere. "Alketa should have introduced at 9 pm instead of Georgina Rodriguez." Besides saying wonderful and true words, which should never be forgotten, makes me proud to be a woman, ?someone adds.
And since we are in the monologue , it has to be said that it is another important issue, where even here Albania-Italy clashed with comments. Could it get better? Yes, of course. Could it have been more current? Yes, but not necessarily. Alceta's monologue, centered on Albanian emigration and strong attachment to Italy, was a personal experience, much like Rula Jebreal's on violence against women, fueled by the tragedy of the late mother. For Albania it may not have seemed very current, at a time when we are no longer the people who dream of leaving Italy by boat, but for the Italians it was perhaps a "slap" to Salvin's policy, which has maintained a strong attitude towards immigration. "Music sweeps boundaries and unites peoples and nations," she said at one point, a subtext that was applauded by the Italians.
If he became more enthusiastic and stole Amadeus' attention for a few minutes, let us understand the emotion of a man who has been working for 20 years for a dream. Alketa was not found by chance in Italy, as we have noted in another article. All her idols, contacts and shows she has brought to Albania have in most cases been related to Italy.
If we try not to impose on Alceta responsibilities that do not belong to her, we will find that she has in some way represented us better than we think. Alketa Vejsiu entered the scene not as someone's wife, not as a veil, not as a well-known Italian media character, but as an Albanian presenter who has been working and investing in Albania for two decades. Alketa is to be seen as the success story of a man who started from scratch and devoted his entire career to a dream, a dream he realized in Sanremo, where he was immediately recognized and "embraced" by the Italians. With its ups and downs, its faults and lapses, the things that could have been done better, Alketa represented in Italy itself, but also the image of a changing Albania, a "moving" Albania and an Albanian who it no longer requires Europe to start from scratch, but with its hard work and dedication it grows professionally in Albania and uses Europe as a natural step towards greater professional and personal ambition.
