The wife of Kobe Bryant - the NBA legend who passed away along with his 13-year-old daughter and seven others while traveling by helicopter - reacted for the first time since the tragic event.
In an Instagram post, Vanessa Bryant wrote:
?My daughters and I want to thank the millions of people who have supported us and shown love in these terrible moments. We definitely need it. We are utterly devastated by the sudden loss of my adorable husband, Kobe - the wonderful daughter of daughters - and my beautiful, sweet Gianna - a loving, quiet, wonderful girl and a fantastic sister to Natalia -n, Bianka and Capri.
We are also devastated by the pain for the families who lost their loved ones on Sunday.
There are not enough words to describe the pain. I am comforted that Kobe and Gigi knew how much we loved them. We were blessed to have them in our lives. I wish they were here forever. They were a blessing to us, but they went away very quickly.
I'm not sure how life would go on without them and I can't imagine it. But we will wake up every day, moving forward because Kobe and our little one, Gigi, will light our way. The love for them is endless. I would love to hug them, kiss them and bless them. I wish I had them here forever.
Thank you for sharing your joy, sorrow, and support with us. We ask for your understanding in order to make this period private. "
