
The 2018 National Literature Awards were supposed to be held in November last year, but as a result of the earthquake, the ceremony was postponed to January. Today the prizes were awarded to the winners.
The best novel of 2018 is "Stones of Solitude," authored by Tom Cook. Kuka is the pseudonym of Enkel Demi who did not want to write with his name because he wanted people to read the book as they liked, without being influenced by his name.
Ismail Kadare's essayist award for the book "When Rulers Struggle." The work deals with rulers' relations with literature.
The best story is Roland Gjoza's "For Girls from Paris".
The best poetic volume was chosen by Havzi Nela, "The Complete Poetic Work."
Mimoza Hafizi received the Children's Literature Award for "Pink Dots."
The best translation of 2018 was Linda Maria Barros's "House with Razor Blades", which was translated into Albanian by Luan Topçiu.
