For the first time in its 21-year history, this year's "Magic Song" will not be a festival, it will not be a race, but a humanitarian mission, a charity event. As you may have read , all proceeds from festival ticket sales will go towards building the Caci family home. However, it seems that not all artists can perform. Besa Kokedhima announced on Instagram that she will withdraw from the Magic Song Contest.
"Dear friends, I regret to inform you that in this time of tragedy, sorrow and panic, I cannot perform on December 5-7 on 'Magic Song 2019'," she writes. ?My heart is laden with despair and suffering for those who are no longer, and I am unable to sing when so much has happened to my countrymen; so I have to officially withdraw from 'Magic Song 2019.'
The following adds: ?I am convinced that the 'Magic Song' will do a commendable job of contributing in its own way to helping those affected, I will quietly give my help and contribution to alleviate some of their pain , and respecting their indelible losses. I apologize to my fans who were waiting for my apology and thank the organizers and Ardit Jewry for everything they have done for me and my colleagues. ?
Some followers have praised Besa's action, while others disagree and ask Besa to rethink the decision.
?Please don't give up. We need to be united, ?someone writes. ?I don't miss you. Artists around the world gather in such causes, ?writes another. ?Respect for your decision making, but people in these sad days need hope and a new life and who better than artists can do it. Don't leave the country in mourning, ?reads another comment. "It is not the moment to step back, but to continue to perform by supporting the earthquake-affected residents."
