Since yesterday, Kosovo Albanians have shown tremendous solidarity for families affected by the strong earthquake that destroyed hundreds of homes in Durres, Thumana and Kurbin. Their online posts repeatedly emphasize Albania's gratitude by paralleling the Kosovo War in the late '99 - where many Albanians helped and sheltered Kosovo families - with the current earthquake situation.
We also add that the sensitivity is even higher due to the fact that Kosovo Albanians have an early connection with Durres. They have been a key factor for local business. Since the 2000s, Kosovo residents have not only visited the coastal city every year, but in many cases have decided to build their own businesses there. Yesterday, two brothers from Kosovo lost their lives in ruins.
The solidarity of state institutions, artists, celebrities and ordinary residents has been tremendous. The Kosovo government was the first to respond to the Albanian state's help. It has disbursed a 500,000-euro fund to be donated to Albania to alleviate the damage caused by the earthquake.
The Special Forces of Kosovo started out after reporting the chaotic situation, and the first ones arrived with the help of the Albanian army, police, Civil Emergency Forces etc. During the operation, it was reported that one of the Kosovo Army's trained dogs rescued three people under rubble.
Moderator of the NIN show, Alaudin Hamiti, in collaboration with "Different Weekends" and other artists like Mozzik, organized a fundraiser directly at Klan Kosova. The live broadcast helped a lot of other people to contribute some. The case of a woman with cancer who, despite her health condition, chose to donate 50 euros, tears her studio attendees.

Kosovo fans, known as Plisat, collected food and clothing for needy families at Fun Club Plisat, in Zahir Pajaziti Square.
There was also an immediate reaction from artists from Kosovo. As we said, Mozzik joined Alaudin Hamiti to call for funds. ?Students of the beloved pupil of the Republic of Kosovo, take initiative tomorrow from the school or faculty where you are. Who has the opportunity to raise money for Albania! #Albania Our Mother, "wrote Mozzik.
Ledri Vula reported that Vula Residencies offers accommodation for the homeless of Thumana and Durres, where the apartments could accommodate 10 people with 3-4 children.
Mike, though present in Tetovo, decided to cancel the performance at a nightclub as a sign of solidarity with the victims. Noizy noted that he has seen at least 50 trucks of help from Kosovo Albanians and Macedonians. Capital T made available a phone number stating that anyone who needs help can get in touch.

There was also an immediate reaction from Kosovo residents who, if not in monetary terms, helped with food and clothing.
All of Kosovo stands for Albania and is to be admired for their gratitude and solidarity, proving again that only politics and war have separated us; the nation remains one and only.
