When Eminem said in the 2018 song "The Ringer" that he had been visited by the US Secret Service because of threatening lyrics about President Donald Trump, many thought it was a kind of poetic choice, but no.
In August 2018, Eminem released the album "Kamikaze", months after "Revival". The song "The Ringer" by "Kamikaze" received a lot of attention because of the mention of the Secret Service. At that time, Buzzfeed News , through the Right to Information Act, sought information on whether it was true that Eminem was questioned.
This week, the agency returned a response through a 40-page document proving that the rapper was interviewed for "unacceptable behavior" and "threat."
According to the document, Eminem was asked about the content of the song "Frame", part of "Revival". In "Frame," the rapper plays the role of a serial killer, wondering how Ivanka Trump's body (Donald Trump's daughter) ended up in the trunk of his car.
The investigation into Eminem began after a TMZ tabloid employee wrote an email to Secret Service agents. "I want to know if your agency is investigating Eminem's threat to Donald Trump's daughter?" The employee wrote.
After meeting with the singer and his lawyers, the Secret Service decided that the case should not be referred to federal prosecutors.
In December of two years ago, in an interview with Vulture, Eminem said of Trump:
"All he does is watch the news on Fox News and repeat them like a parrot. I get angry when I think about him, so he annoys me so much. My blood boils when I think about it. It wants to become the best for the country, but it will never be topped with it. The people who support him are the ones who have nothing to say about [the country]. He's been brainwashed. ?
